The hood shape for the Rival eTap AXS shifter has changed from the SRAM RED and Force eTap AXS systems to a narrower grip. Rival eTap AXS does not allow for auxiliary remote shift buttons, whereas SRAM RED (two each per shifter) and Force eTap AXS (one each per shifter) do. Rival eTap AXS has an alloy brake lever.
Rival eTap AXS 2x cranksets will come in polished aluminum with an integrated spider, while 1x polished aluminum cranksets will have a single direct mount chainring. You will not be able to swap from 2x to 1x as you can with the RED and Force eTap AXS cranksets. Both SRAM RED and Force crank arms are carbon; SRAM RED having direct mount chainrings for 2x, and both SRAM RED and Force having a 1x spider that works with 1x 107mm BCD chainrings. Force uses this same spider for the 2x system, making it easy to swap chainrings from 2x to 1x with the swap of chainrings and chainring bolts only.
With all 12-speed cranksets, we do offer a power meter option. Rival power meter is crank arm-based, while SRAM RED and Force are spider-based power meters. The SRAM RED and Force eTap AXS derailleurs offer our Orbit fluid damper system, and Rival eTap AXS is equipped with a spring clutch for chain retention.
