I have a Sram Red Etap. Is the Blipbox "AXS Sram" compatible with e-Tap Red Sram 11 speeds (blips and clips)?

    Hello Fernando,

That is a great question! SRAM eTap 11 speed components communicate through a different version of our secure wireless protocol than our more current 'AXS' components. Because of this, eTap 11-speed components are not compatible with any eTap AXS shifters or BlipBoxes. Please see the article below for a more detailed explanation of intergenerational component compatibility.

Can I upgrade parts bit by bit from my SRAM RED eTap 11-speed groupset?

    Bonjour,

    Bien Sportivement.

Hi, is the Quarq Force power meter compatible with the rival crankset? Rather than the spindle option?

    Hello Jason,

Thanks for your comment! If your Rival eTap AXS crankset is a 1x, then yes. If it is 2x, then the answer is no.

2x Rival eTap AXS crank assemblies are not compatible with any spider-based Quarq or SRAM power meter due to their integrated spider design. The four chainring attachment points on Rival eTap AXS cranks are part of the crank forging and cannot be removed.

1x Rival eTap AXS crank assemblies are compatible because they use the same 8-bolt crank-to-spider direct mount interface as our SRAM spider-based power meters. This makes any Rival eTap AXS 1x crank assembly compatible with the AXS Power Meter Spider and the RED AXS Power Meter Kit

With that in mind, the SRAM AXS Power Meter Spider and SRAM RED AXS Power Meter Kit do not support all Rival eTap AXS chainring ratios, so it's essential to keep this in mind considering this option.

    Hi

Is it possible to use the Force shift-brake lever (EB-FRC-D1) with Rival eTap AXS components? I'm building a bike based on Rival eTap AXS but the frame will be rim brakes - Rival only includes shift-brake levers for hydraulic brakes so I wanted to use the Force brake levers.

    Many thanks.

    Hello David,

Thanks for your comment! Yes, the SRAM Force eTap AXS shift-brake lever for mechanical rim brakes is compatible with SRAM RED or Rival eTap AXS front and rear derailleurs.

The same question. Will Red/Force 2x12 AXS levers communicate to Rival AXS RD and FD?

    2 Questions:

I would like to change components and upgrade my triathlon bike by a Rival 1 X 12. Is it correct that the blip box will manage the Rival  rear derailleur ?

The plan is to demount the Rival derailleur and cassette 10-36 from another bike and substitute at this bike with Force AXS components = cassette 10-33,  Force AXS rear derailleur + Force AXS front derailleur, but keep the Riveal HDR shifters. Will this allow to programme the system that the chain will automatically swith (rear and front derailleur action) at a certain chain setting ?

    Hello Helmut,

Thanks for your comment! A SRAM eTap AXS BlipBox will certainly work to control the Rival rear derailleur on your triathlon bike. Check out the BlipBox page on the SRAM Service site for manuals and videos.

Your existing Rival eTap AXS HRD brake/shift levers are also compatible with your Force eTap AXS front and rear derailleurs. You can then use the AXS Mobile App to enable Sequential or Compensating shift modes from the drivetrain settings menu. We have an article on this process here

I have a Sram Rival AXS, want to upgrade to a Force AXS. Currently using a Sram blip box as my bike is Tri, was wondering if I can change to Force AXS derailleurs then pair with again with my blip box? Can I remove my paired Rival AXS derailleurs? Or do I have to change the whole group set including the blip box and shifters?

    Hello Kelvin,

Thanks for your question! You can change your Rival eTap AXS derailleurs out for RED eTap AXS, Force eTap AXS, or any combination in between! All of our eTap AXS derailleurs can be paired and controlled by the eTap AXS BlipBox.

See the AXS Components Compatibility Map for more information if needed.

Would like to know if I were to change from Sram Rival AXS to RED/FORCE AXS, can the Sram Rival AXS derailleurs be paired to another pair of levers/blip box if I were to sell my used derailleurs? Thank You

  • Alex M

    Hello Kelvin,

My apologies that my answer was not clear. Yes, AXS derailleurs and shift-brake levers/BlipBox are not 'hard paired' as a system.

Your Rival eTap AXS derailleurs can be paired to any set of RED, Force, or Rival eTap AXS shift-brake levers or eTap AXS BlipBox by whoever purchased them.

See the AXS System Pairing Process for more information if needed.

I have Rival 1 x12 speed eTAP AXS electronic shifters/brake levers. I'm moving to 2 x 12. Are these shfters compatible with a Force eTAP AXS front derailleur?

    cheers

    Hey Bob,

Sorry for the delay, though you are correct! My previous response to Kevin applies here as well. SRAM eTap AXS and Eagle AXS shifters and derailleurs can all be wirelessly paired with one another, so the addition of a front derailleur to your system poses no concerns.
