As with other SRAM drivetrains, as you move up to the higher tiers, the materials used become lighter and there are often additional features. Some of the main differences and features are highlighted below.
X0:
-The X0 crankset is our most advanced alloy crankset ever! Available with a DUB-PWR spindle-based power meter, you can also easily upgrade to the DUB-PWR later by replacing the left crank arm and spindle.
- The X0 chain features a Dark Polar finish specific to X0, has been plated with electroless nickel, and has a PVD coating for unbelievable resistance to corrosion and wear. The XO chain also has solid pins for ultimate durability.
-The XS-1295 cassette features a Dark Polar finish and electroless nickel plating for incredible resistance to corrosion and wear. The X0 cassette utilizes X-DOME technology for gears 1-11, with a lighter-weight aluminum 12th cog.
-The XO Eagle Transmission features an alloy pulley cage and replaceable parts to extend the lifespan of your drivetrain. Many replaceable parts can be upgraded to the lighter XX or XX SL versions to save weight.
XX:
- The XX Eagle Transmission crankset is made of carbon fiber with a foam core to provide incredible strength and stiffness. The XX crankset features first-of-its-kind removable and replaceable bash guards. Available with a DUB-PWR spindle-based power meter, you can also easily upgrade to the DUB-PWR later by replacing the left crank arm and spindle.
- The XX chain features a hollow pin design and is finished in a long-wearing, high-durability chrome. The strongest SRAM chain ever!
-Cassette made from hardened tool steel with a machined X-Dome design for the cluster and stamped steel 38T and 44T cogs pinned to the lighter weight aluminum 12th gear.
-The XX Eagle Transmission features an alloy pulley cage, and replaceable parts to extend the lifespan of your drivetrain. Many replaceable parts can be upgraded to the lighter XX SL version to save weight. The XX Transmission also features our new Magic Wheel, this oversized lower pulley wheel keeps spinning if debris gets stuck in the inner part of the wheel!
XX SL:
-The XX SL Eagle AXS Transmission crankset has been engineered with an ultra-strong but ultra-light design that utilizes carbon fiber with a hollow core. This makes it the lightest ISO-certified crank on the market, maximized for title-winning stiffness! The XX SL crankset is available in a narrower Q-Factor (168mm) using the DUB SL spindle, while maintaining a 55mm chain line for Eagle Transmission. The XX SL crankset is also available with our new weight-saving thread-on style power meter.
-The XX SL chain features super-light outer plates with cut-outs on the outer plates and a hollow pin design for an incredibly light but strong chain.
- The lightest Eagle cassette we’ve ever made, as well as our most precise and longest-lasting. It features a fully machined, hardened steel X-Dome architecture for gears 1-9 and an ultra-lightweight, all-aluminum Spider Cog for gears 10-12.
-The XX SL series XS-1299 T-Type cassettes and XX SL chains are not recommended for use with E-MTBs. These parts are designed for the lightest weight applications and may wear out prematurely on E-MTB applications.
