When inspecting your SRAM Eagle 12-speed chain, you might notice a three-digit number printed on the outside of the outer link. This number doesn't indicate compatibility but rather serves as an internal tracking code during manufacturing.
When replacing your SRAM Eagle 12-speed chain, these numbers don't need to match your old chain. The production code is simply a part of SRAM's production process and doesn't affect the performance or compatibility of your chain.
Your 12-speed Eagle chain can be replaced with any chain from our Eagle Drivetrain lineup. For help determining the correct chain for your bike, check out the MTB Components Compatibility Map, or get in touch with our Rider Support Team for assistance.
