UNDERSTANDING AXS FIRMWARE UPDATES
AXS firmware updates are periodically released for every AXS component to improve general system performance and function. Each component must be individually checked for updates.
UPDATING FIRMWARE
1) Open the AXS App. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
2) Wake the system's primary component by lightly bouncing or shaking your bicycle.
Getting stuck? If a primary component does not wake from moving your bike, press its AXS button for two seconds or less. If this doesn't work, place the battery on the AXS charger until full. Then, try again.
3) Select Connect to continue.

4) Select the primary component to enter its part menu.
5) Select New Firmware Available. If the firmware is already up to date, no action is needed. Exit the part menu and jump to step 10.
6) Select Install to continue.
7) Press the component's AXS button for two seconds or less to start the firmware update. The component's LED will blink rapidly during installation. Do not exit the firmware update screen or AXS app during installation.
Getting stuck? If the update does not start or progress after 5-10 seconds, return to the Bike Profile page (step 4), and attempt again. If this doesn't work, force quit the AXS App and toggle your mobile device Bluetooth off and on. Then, try again.
8) Select Continue to exit the firmware update menu after installation.
9) Connection to the AXS App is reset following a firmware update. Reconnect to your system's primary component.

10) Press the AXS button of any non-primary component in the paired system to activate its Bluetooth signal.

*The icon, text, and background brightness of non-primary components increases when it's available for direct connection to the AXS App. In the above image, Bluetooth on the left controller and front derailleur has not been activated.
Tech Tip: If a component no longer shifts or actuates following an AXS App interaction, complete the System Pairing process.
