The new design for RED AXS moves the primary piston from the pommel of the lever into the body of the hood. The new piston is now a push-piston design with a higher lever-pivot on the brake lever. The caliper is stiffer, and the rotor receives a new brake track. This new design requires 80% less effort when braking from the hoods compared to RED eTap AXS HRD, giving riders the option for one-finger braking. When braking in the drops, the new design requires 33% less effort as compared to RED eTap AXS HRD.
